It is estimated that from 14:00 on May 10 to 14:00 on May 11, there will be heavy rain in some areas of eastern and southern Guangxi, most of Guangdong, central and southern Jiangxi and Western Fujian, among which there will be heavy rain (100 ~ 180 mm) in northern Guangdong and coastal areas in the West.
Some of the above areas are accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall ( the maximum hourly rainfall is 20 ~ 50mm, which can exceed 60mm locally ), and there are thunderstorms, gales and other strong convective weather locally.
According to the Guangdong Meteorological Observatory, during the heavy rainfall, the rainfall area in Guangdong during the day of the 10th was mainly in the west, of which Guangzhou began at midnight after the 10th.
From the night of the 10th to the 12th is the rainfall concentration period, especially from the 11th to the 12th, the rainfall is the most violent, from rainstorm to heavy rainstorm in the whole province, and locally heavy rainstorm
On the 13th, the rainfall area was mainly in the East and south. On the 14th, the precipitation weakened in the middle and North, and there was still moderate to heavy rain in the south coast.
The rainfall process has four characteristics: strong rainfall, large range, long duration and large accumulated rainfall. It may be the strongest, widest range and longest duration heavy rainfall process in Guangdong since this year, which can be called the "strongest water sprinkling model"
It is reported that there are three main factors contributing to the heavy rainfall: the establishment of water vapor channel, the strong southwest warm and humid air flow rushing ashore, and the cooperation of low vortex shear**
At present, 25 rainstorm warning signals are in effect in Guangdong Province, including 21 rainstorm yellow warning signals and 4 rainstorm orange warning signals.
Guangdong early warning information release center also issued an emergency reminder. From May 10 to 13, there was a process of large-scale rainstorm to heavy rainstorm in Guangdong Province* Affected by the superposition of previous rainfall, at present, the soil water content tends to be saturated, and the probability of geological disasters such as landslide, collapse and debris flow increases *. Attention should be paid to prevent geological disasters. Be careful to prevent the collapse of houses, factories and sheds on the hillside caused by mountain collapse and landslide. After heavy rainfall, residents who cut slopes and build houses can't live in the back house, the first floor, the hillside and the gully can't be cleared.
