Meta, the parent company of Facebook, appointed guy Rosen, vice president of the company, as the chief information security officer (CISO) on Monday, which is the first person in the social media company. Rosen has been working for Facebook since 2013 and recently led the company's efforts in product security and integrity.

On twitter, he said that in his new role, "he will continue to monitor and overview the security risks faced by users of our services, our company and the industry". This is Facebook's first CISO. Facebook was renamed meta in october2021, but its social media application retained the name of "facebook".
Meta CEO markzuckerberg said in a memo that he had asked Rosen to take the post, and said that this move was "another step to improve the safety work in our DNA and strengthen our leadership and Governance on safety issues."
Zuckerberg wrote that in his expanded role, Rosen "will be responsible for the abuse of the platform and the security of our products, infrastructure and company information, and pay attention to internal and external risks". Alex Stamos, the former chief security officer of Facebook, left in 2018.
