Embracer group said that the company is reviewing IP sequels, reproductions, reproductions and derivative works for crystal power and Eidos Montreal, which are about to be acquired. In the fourth quarter earnings report released on Thursday, Lars winvers, CEO of embracer group, commented on the company's potential plans for these iconic IPS.
"We recently announced the acquisition of crystal power, Eidos Montreal, skwell Montreal, including Tomb Raider, out of siege, the thief, Kane's legacy and other IP," he said. "This news has received an overwhelming positive response. We see great potential, not only for sequels, but also reproductions, reproductions, derivative works and cross media projects."
Wenvers said that embracer Group expects the acquisition to end between July and September, involving about 1100 employees in three studios in eight locations around the world.
According to embracer, about 88 million copies of the Tomb Raider series have been sold and about 12 million copies have been sold. When the deal was announced, Phil Rogers, CEO of skywell USA and Europe, said embracer was "very suitable for its goal: to create high-quality games with excellent employees and develop the existing IP into the best version."
Crystal power said in April that the next Tomb Raider game has entered the development stage, using the unreal 5 engine. "This new engine will bring a higher level of storytelling and game experience," said Dallas Dickinson, general manager of crystal power's Tomb Raider series
