It is reported that recently, in a paper published in Zootaxa, an international authoritative journal of animal taxonomy, recorded a new species, Tianbaoyan swollen leg beetle, found in Tianbaoyan National Nature Reserve, Yong'an, Fujian** Tianbaoyan swollen leg beetle is an insect of the class entomoptera, Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae, with a body length of about 16mm, flat body, black female and dark brown male, small head, close contact with the chest, developed mouth and large upper jaw.
Access:
The antennae are 11 segments, the anterior chest and back plate are developed, and the lateral margin groove is thin and deep. Although it is a beetle, on the whole, the shape of six feet and two whiskers makes it look like a large "cockroach"**
Adults move on the trunk at night, but hide under the tree or in the bark during the day.
The beetle is a new species discovered and named by Furong Biological Research Institute, a research team of the project, during the implementation of the scientific research project of "investigation on insect diversity in Tianbaoyan National Nature Reserve" by Fujian Yongan Tianbaoyan administration.
The discovery of this new species has added a scientific wealth to the world and further enriched the biological diversity. It has very important theoretical value and practical significance for ecological protection and biological evolution research.
