Boeing said on Wednesday that supply chain disruptions had slowed production and delivery of the 737 max, but did not believe that the company's overall plan for this year had been disturbed. Brian West, Boeing's chief financial officer, said the company was dealing with a shortage of suppliers of specific wiring connectors, but overall, the company would be able to produce 31 aircraft per month as planned.
"This reflects the crazy supply chain world we live in now. These things are usually solved in a short time, and then we will catch up and take action," he added.
West also said that the delivery delay of Boeing 787 Dreamliner is coming to an end. The delay has damaged cash flow and increased debt, but the company does not need to use the credit line or raise funds immediately.
However, West said that as delivery and production rebounded, "all options are under consideration" in the long run, such as equity financing.
