BMW 3 series has existed for nearly 50 years. The seventh generation G20 model has received some subtle but good updates in 2023 models, mainly focusing on the upgrading of modeling and technology. Although BMW refused to equip the updated 3-Series with a huge double kidney grille like m3 or the new 7-series, the shape and pattern of the grille have been slightly adjusted.

At present, BMW has only released photos of the more aggressive m sports model, but each version of the 3 series will have a redesigned front bumper, a larger central air inlet and more vertical and angular elements. As for the interior of the car, the biggest change is the arc display you have seen on models such as I4, which combines a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and a 14.9-inch touch screen into a huge screen. The air-conditioning outlet on the instrument panel becomes thinner, and the number of buttons is subtracted -- this is because the 2023 3 3-Series runs BMW's latest iDrive 8 infotainment system, which integrates more controls into the screen. The shifter has now become a change-over switch instead of a larger shifter, but it does not release more space on the center console.
The engine lineup remains unchanged. The basic 330i is equipped with a 2.0-liter in-line four cylinder turbocharged engine, while the 330E pairs the engine with a plug-in hybrid system. In 2022, the turbocharged in-line six cylinder engine of m340i obtained a 48 volt mild hybrid, which has also been continued. Each model has an optional all wheel drive system and each uses an eight speed automatic transmission. The recently exposed electric I3 models will continue to be sold only in the Chinese market.
Unfortunately, the pricing of the updated 3-Series has not been announced, but don't expect it to be a big leap over the current starting price of $43195 of 330i. The 2023 series will arrive at the U.S. dealer in July this year.
