Tesla CEO Elon Musk had a dispute with Australia's third richest person on twitter on Friday about whether it should end the remote work during the epidemic period. Earlier this week, musk sent a notice to Tesla employees, requiring them to "work in the office for at least 40 hours a week", otherwise it will be considered as voluntary resignation. The move has attracted criticism from workers' rights activists, saying it may make employees infected with novel coronavirus.

Scott Farquhar, co-founder of atlassian, an Australian project management software manufacturer, mocked Musk's instruction in a series of tweets that it was "like something in the 1950s". He said that atlassian's "work anywhere" policy was "the key to our sustained growth".
He added: "our goal is to increase the number of employees in atlassian to 25000 by fy2026. Are any Tesla employees interested?"
Musk retorted: "the above tweets explain why recession plays a crucial role in economic purification."
Such exchanges are not uncommon for musk, who often makes unapologetic statements on sensitive topics on twitter.
