According to Bloomberg, apple showed its upcoming AR / VR device to board members last week, indicating that the device is in an advanced development stage and may debut in the near future. Apple has also accelerated the development of software running on the head display, which is expected to be called "reality OS" or ROS for short.
Over the years, work has been carried out on the headset AR / VR device. Apple's first product is considered to be a hybrid head display, which has a curved sun visor and a soft mesh that fits the face. It is expected to have a watch similar to applewatch to fix it. Apple's goal is to make it lighter and more comfortable than other AR / VR head displays on the market.
It will be equipped with two 4K micro OLED displays, 15 camera modules, powerful processors equivalent to M-series chips, eye tracking function, gesture support, spatial audio and other functions. When it is launched, the price of the head display is expected to be about $3000.
According to reports, Apple Efforts have been made since 2019 to release this head show, but there have been many delays in 2020, 2021 and now 2022. Apple has been dealing with issues such as overheating and camera and software problems, which has delayed its debut several times.
Bloomberg said that we can see the AR / VR headset as early as the end of this year, but we plan to release it to consumers by 2023.
