Ian goodflow, Apple's head of machine learning, resigned from the company three years later, in part because of the iPhone maker's policy of returning to the office The machine learning executive is leaving after joining apple for more than three years. In an email to employees, goodflow confirmed the news that he was leaving.
Although the official reason for leaving is unknown, goodflow does say that Apple Policy changes to get more people to work in the office are a problem. According to Zoe Schiffer of the verge, goodflow wrote in an email: "I firmly believe that more flexibility is the best policy for my team."
According to Google's LinkedIn profile, it joined apple in March 2019 as the machine learning director of the special project team. The profile has not updated the resignation information.
Previously, goodflow worked at Google as a senior staff research scientist. He is also known for his work on generative adversarial networks, which brings together two competing neural networks to improve the accuracy of the system.
This controversial policy allows apple to set employees to work in each office from April 11, starting with a mixed work plan of working in the office one day a week, and then gradually increase the number of days in the office over time.
Not all Apple employees are keen on this plan. A survey of a small number of employees found that a high proportion of employees are actively looking for jobs elsewhere. The policy of returning to the office, the possibility of covid infection, toxic corporate culture and the lack of work life balance are all considered to be the reasons for moving forward.
