Although Apple's early M1 based Macs officially supported only one external display, there were ways to bypass this restriction. Anker today launched a new 10 in 1 usb-c docking station, which provides this function. Anker 563 usb-c base includes two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort port. It uses multi stream transport to transmit multiple video signals on a single connection.
Since the docking station operates through a single usb-c cable and has bandwidth limitations, such usage will limit the quality of the display that can be connected.
If you want to add a single 4K display, you can do this from one of the HDMI ports, but it can only operate at 30Hz. The second HDMI display and / or DisplayPort display will be limited to 2K resolution of 50Hz or 60Hz, depending on the configuration. Although this base may be a solution, it can only be used in scenes that do not necessarily need high resolution and refresh rate. Users should be aware of these limitations.
In addition to the support for the display, the Anker 563 base also includes a wealth of other ports, including a usb-c power delivery port, which provides up to 100 watts of power for the host, and a pair of 5 Gbps downstream USB ports: a usb-c, 30 watts of power, a usb-a, 7.5 watts of power. The other two usb-a 2.0 ports are suitable for peripheral devices such as mouse and keyboard, while one Gigabit Ethernet port and one aux input / output port improve the function.
The Anker 563 usb-c docking station is 7x3x1 inches in size and powered by a 180 watt adapter. It costs $249.99 and can now be purchased from Anker's official website and Amazon.
In other Anker news, the company recently announced that several products can now be shipped, including the huge 757 portable power station ($1399) and the nebula cosmos laser 4K projector ($2199).
The much anticipated Anker 736 100 watt Gan charger sold out immediately when the black version was launched last month. Now there is also a white version, which costs $79.99 on Amazon. Finally, ankermake M5 3D printer has entered its final days on KickStarter, where it has more than 11000 supporters and hopes to reach the final $9 million crowdfunding goal.
