With the arrival of the Taipei Computer Exhibition, amd brought some details of the new generation of Raptor 7000 series processor with zen4 architecture. It will be officially released and listed sometime this fall. This disclosure is only part of the technology, specifications and features. Of course, there can be no model and price.
Amd has previously announced that the Ruilong 7000 series processor will be manufactured by 5nm process, support ddr5 memory and PCIe 5.0 bus, and adopt a new Am5 encapsulated interface.
"The world's most advanced game processor" shows its internal structure for the first time. is also a classic combination of CCD computing chip and IOD input and output chip, which is based on TSMC 5nm and 6nm technology respectively. It is also the core of the first 5nm PC processor.
*The IOD part is added to the GPU graphics core for the first time, and is the latest rdna2 architecture, that is, the whole line is APU *. Of course, some models should not open GPU, similar to the F series of competitive products.
Just because GPU is added and ddr5 and PCIe 5.0 controllers are integrated at the same time, it can be seen that the area of IOD is much larger, but it also has an advanced low-power architecture to control power consumption and heating.
At the same time, it can be confirmed that the Ruilong 7000 series does no longer support DDR4 memory, but I believe that after the release of the new platform, the price of ddr5 will be basically reduced.
The L2 cache capacity of zen4 architecture will be doubled, 512KB per core will be increased to 1MB , and the L3 cache is expected to remain unchanged. It is still 32MB shared by 8 cores.
In terms of frequency, the maximum acceleration will exceed 5GHz. Coupled with the higher IPC (number of instructions per cycle) brought by the new architecture, the single thread performance will be improved by more than 15%

Previously, it was revealed that the whole core acceleration frequencies of Ruilong 9 7950x, Ruilong 9 7900x, Ruilong 7 7800x and Ruilong 5 7600x will reach 5GHz, and the single core acceleration will reach 5.4ghz, 5.3GHz, 5.2GHz and 5.1ghz respectively, which looks promising.
