Baihetan Hydropower Station is invested, constructed and managed by China Three Gorges group. Since the first batch of units were put into operation in July 2021, the cumulative power generation of Baihetan Hydropower Station has exceeded 25.6 billion kwh. After all the power station units are put into operation, 19.68 million tons of standard coal consumption and 51.6 million tons of carbon dioxide emission are saved every year, which plays an important role in achieving the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization in China.
The power station is designed to install 16 million units with a total installed capacity of 16 million KW, and 8 units are arranged on the left and right banks respectively. Among them, 8 million KW units of the right bank power station are all installed and commissioned by China energy construction Gezhouba electromechanical company. China energy construction Gezhouba electromechanical Co., Ltd. officially started the installation of the first (No. 14) unit on December 31, 2019 and completed the installation of the last (No. 9) unit, which lasted 871 days. On June 26, 2021, unit 14 took the lead in generating the first kilowatt power of the world's first million kilowatt unit. At present, the operating swing of 8 units (No. 9 to No. 16) installed is less than 0.1mm, creating the best record in the installation history of million kilowatt hydropower units. At the same time, the company has successfully achieved the "four firsts" of the first million kilowatt hydropower unit to start successfully, the first to connect to the grid, the first to output power to the State Grid, and the first to pass the test of 72 hour trial operation.
At present, seven units of Baihetan Hydropower Station have been put into operation, with stable operation and excellent operation indicators. 7 units are qualified for grid connected power generation. The last two units were installed and entered the sprint stage of full production.
